LUDHIANA: As part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal constructions, the Municipal Corporation sealed three unauthorised shops in Model Town extension (Block B) area Friday. MC officials said they discovered these shops during a routine inspection.
On reports of alleged illegal construction in Raghunath Enclave, MC building branch officials said they inspected the site but found no illegal structures there. They said a residential building is coming up at the site, and the owner has the civic body’s approval for the building plan.
The non-compoundable portion (houseline area) of the building was already demolished by the civic body in the recent past, they added.
Building/houseline means a line beyond which the outer face of a building, except the boundary wall, must not be projected in the direction of any street, existing or proposed.
Amid the seal and demolition drive, MC commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal once appealed to the public to start construction work only after getting the building plan approved by the civic body else face civic action.
