Mcd Serves Eviction Notices To Flat Owners In All Towers Of Signature View Apartments, ET RealEstate

NEW DELHI: Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Thursday served eviction notices to flats owners in all towers of Signature View Apartments in Mukherjee Nagar, giving a week’s time to residents to vacate the premises, informed residents.

RWA secretary of Signature View Apartments, Gaurav Pandey, said that the notices were placed in four blocks by the MCD staff and it applied to all the apartments in 12 towers.

“The notices issued by the zonal offices, signed on December 18, stated that the buildings are unsafe. But there is still no clarity on whether DDA will pay the rent to us or not if we vacate the complex. We had a meeting with the principal commissioner, DDA on this matter and at least 50 residents were present. We requested to start rent as many of us are still paying EMIs of houses. Also, the one-week time given by the MCD to vacate premises has increased our worries,” he said.

No confirmation could be received from the civic body on this matter.

The structural audit of the apartments was done by an IIT Delhi team in November last year declaring the premises unsafe, after which the lieutenant governor had in January asked Delhi Development Authority to immediately vacate and dismantle the premises.
