NAGPUR: The central government has already provided ₹6,708 crore, for building the second phase of metro rail network in Nagpur and it is expected to be completed by 2027.
The Centre considers funding the Metro project in any state depending upon feasibility of the proposal and availability of the resources.
The amount has already been set aside for the Nagpur Metro’s second phase, said Union housing and urban development minister Hardeep Singh Puri in a reply to question by Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane in the Parliament.
Puri said the second phase which goes up to a distance of 43km will be completed by 2027. The first phase also covers a distance of 40km.
The second phase will extend from Automotive Square till Kanhan, Mihan to Butibori and Hingna-Prajapati Nagar to Transport Nagar, said a note issued by Tumane.
