MPIDC acquires 400 hectare of land to develop Vikram Udyogpuri phase II, ET RealEstate

INDORE: The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) acquired over 400 hectare of private land to develop the second phase of Vikram Udyogpuri industrial area in Ujjain. This initiative is expected to attract new investments in the region.

At present, Vikram Udyogpuri spans 458 hectare and is nearly at full capacity. The process of taking possession of the new land has already began, and a detailed project report will be prepared to initiate the development.

Vikram Udyogpuri industrial area is one of the key projects of Madhya Pradesh govt and will be prominently exhibited to investors in the Investors’ Summit 2025 happening in Bhopal in Feb.

“We are developing Phase 2 of Vikram Udyogpuri. The existing area is almost fully occupied and we are receiving numerous investment proposals from various industries. Given the interest from investors in this region, we have decided to move forward with Phase 2,” said MPIDC Ujjain executive director Rajesh Rathod.

Approximately 58 industries acquired land in Vikram Udyogpuri industrial area, of which more than 15 entered the trial and production phase. According to MPIDC, these 58 industries proposed investments exceeding Rs 5000 crore.

MPIDC received approximately 200 investment proposals from industries that require around 121 hectare in Vikram Udyogpuri. Some of the companies that secured space include PepsiCo India, Amul, Ashirvad Pipes, Symbiotic Life, Karnataka Antibiotics, Yashoda Linen, and Srinivas Pharma.

The industry department is actively working to enhance amenities and upgrade the infrastructure of industrial belt.

In Vikram Udyogpuri, MPIDC installed a 5.2 MLD common effluent Treatment plant (CEPT) at a cost exceeding Rs 24 crore, as part of efforts to improve the industrial ecosystem in the area. The projected generation of effluents from industries in this industrial zone is approximately 3-4 MLD.
