MYSURU: Henceforth, all Mysuru Development Authority (Muda) developed and approved layouts around Mysuru will be maintained by the local govt bodies of the respective areas.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting chaired by Muda chairman G Lakshmikantha Reddy, who is also the Mysuru DC.
“In the meeting, it was decided to hand over all layouts developed and approved by the Muda to the urban and rural areas to the urban local bodies, including the municipal council and gram panchayat. They will maintain all these layouts instead of Muda,” said Reddy to TOI.
It can be recalled that previous DC KV Rajendra withdrew the khata issuing power of the Muda and handed over the same to local govt bodies like panchayats, town panchayats, etc.
The local bodies were given the right to collect the property and other taxes to provide the basic amenities.
