Over 35 Lakh Houses Built, 72,000 Under Construction, ET RealEstate

LUCKNOW: At a meeting of the state level monitoring committee for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin held on Monday, it was informed that against the target of 36.60 lakh homes from 2016-17 to 2024-25, the state govt had completed 35.88 lakh houses while 72,000 were under construction.

An official said model houses had been completed in 410 development blocks and are under construction in another 144.

The official further said against the target of constructing 2.57 lakh houses from 2018-19 to 2023-24, work on 2.52 lakh houses has been completed, and 3,929 houses are under construction.

Out of this, 47,795 houses were allocated to families from the Musahar tribe, 4,838 to Vantangia, 3,233 to Tharu, 29,923 to Kol, 6,979 to Sahariya, 5,367 to Chero, 1,584 to Baiga, 2,220 to Nat, 63 to Pachaiya Lohar, 155 to Gadhaiya Lohar, and 175 to families from the Boksa tribe.

Additionally, 5,021 houses were allocated to families affected by leprosy, 78,101 by natural disasters, 249 by kala-azar, 674 by JE and AES, and 71,056 to families of differently abled persons.

“In 2024-25, out of the 94,294 allocated houses, around 21,000 have been approved. In 2023-24, the differently abled category was included in the priority category for the Mukhyamantri Awas, with 75% of the allocated target houses given to them,” the official said.
