The three stations on the stretch are Kasba Peth, Mandai and Swargate. “We will keep all machinery ready to operate the trains for commuters on Thursday. Having said that, we are yet to receive confirmation on this front from the authorities,” a Maha Metro official said on Tuesday.

Maha Metro officials said train operation details were being worked out, and based on the clearance from the state authorities, the service would be launched for the commuters. “For now, plans are afoot to run the trains on the section at an existing frequency of 10 minutes during the non-peak hours and at seven-and-a-half minutes during the rush hours,” the official said.

As a part of the inauguration plan, PM Modi is likely to travel in the Metro from Civil Court underground station to Swargate. The Metro administration is in the process of giving final touches to the three stations. At least one entry-exit point at each station will be operational for commuters in the initial phase of the launch. “More entry-exit points will be developed in phases,” the official said.
