PUNE: The civic administration will reissue around two lakh property tax bills without the 40% discount as their occupants have not submitted the mandatory self-occupancy certificates (PT3 forms) needed to avail of the benefit.

“The occupants or owners of these properties have not submitted the PT3 forms. It means that these properties are not ‘self-occupied.’ The process to finalise the new bill amounts for them is underway. It is expected to be completed by December-end, paving way for new bills’ issuance,” said Ajit Deshmukh, head of PMC’s property tax department.

Deshmukh said PMC was likely to earn a revenue of around Rs 50 crore from these two lakh properties.

The civic administration had allowed the owners of self-occupied properties to submits the PT3 forms by November 15 initially. The deadline was later extended to November 30.

At the end of deadline, only 96,000 forms were submitted. Property owners, who got the additional tax on their bills this year as arrears, were expected to submit the form. The forms were also demanded from the property owners, whose properties were registered with the property tax department after 2019. The civic administration had sent SMSs to some property owners following a GIS mapping.
