PMC Waives Deadline for PT3 Form Submission, ET RealEstate

PUNE: Property owners in merged areas under PMC limits will get temporary relief from mandatory submission of PT3 forms (affidavit for property’s self-occupancy) as the civic body has waived the deadline for the same.

These forms are necessary to receive 40% property tax benefits offered by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for self-occupied properties.

The civic administration had set a deadline of January 31 for the same. Since most property owners have not yet received property tax bills, they will not be required to adhere to the deadline for submission.

“The administration is in the process of issuing the bills. Property owners will have to complete the due formalities after getting bills. The new deadline has not been fixed yet,” said a senior official of PMC’s tax department.

“But property owners may receive waiver till the end of the financial year. The administration has given relief to residents of 23 merged villages only,” the officer added.

“The tax bills, which the administration has sent are very high as compared to previous bills, which the grampanchyat used to send. New bills are a burden on us, more so when PMC is offering hardly any civic services to us,” said Nitin Jain, a resident of Wagholi, one of the 23 merged areas.
