Property registration locations in Indore merged for new guideline rates, ET RealEstate

INDORE: In a bid to streamline working and improve efficiency and help property buyers, the stamps and registrations department in Indore has merged around 500 smaller property registration locations with larger ones, located nearby and having common rates. The process has been undertaken through polygon mapping reducing the total number of registration locations from 5,124 to 4,613 in the city.

According to officials, the move is expected to benefit the registration department in terms of revenue. Besides, the public will find it easier to identify property locations.

“The polygon mapping of collector guideline areas in Indore district is complete. Now the new guideline proposal can be prepared according to the changes in location,” said senior district registrar Amresh Naidu.

“Meetings of sub-district evaluation committees are complete. After Holi, a meeting of the district evaluation committee will be held on March 15 and a decision will be taken on the collector guideline proposal of Indore district. After this, claims objections will be called for a week and after its disposal, Indore’s proposal will be sent to Bhopal,” he said.

Out of the revised 4,613 locations in Indore district, a proposal is prepared to increase the guideline rates in around 3,200 locations. The proposal includes a minimum increase of 20%-100% in different areas.

About 150 new colonies will be included in the next financial year’s collector guideline. Applications for these colonies have been received by the registration department. Senior officials of the registration department said that proposals for new locations will be taken until the date of holding the district evaluation committee meeting and disposal of claims objections.
