Property Registration Revenue Up Over 12% In Indore-ujjain Div, ET RealEstate

INDORE: Robust property sales in Indore-Ujjain divisions in the 2023-24 financial year has aided the Madhya Pradesh govt fetch more than 12 per cent higher revenues from property registrations as against the previous fiscal, official data showed.

Revenue collection from property registrations across 15 districts in Indore-Ujjain divisions were higher by around Rs 489 crore to Rs 4,304 crore in the financial year 2023-24 that ended on March 31.

In the previous year, revenue from property registrations in the Indore-Ujjain division was Rs 3,815 crore.

More than 5.7 lakh properties were registered in FY 2024 in Indore-Ujjain divisions, the official data showed. In the last fiscal, close to 5 lakh properties were sold in the region.

The highest revenue was clocked in Indore district at Rs 2,410 crore followed by Ujjain at Rs 453 crore, Dewas Rs 272 crore and Ratlam Rs 171 crore.

Balkrishna More, deputy inspector general of registration Indore region said, “Total revenue collection in Indore-Ujjain divisions in the fiscal 2023-24 has jumped to approximately Rs 4,304 crore, up by Rs 489 crore from the previous year. In the region, highest revenue was clocked in Indore and remained close to 16 per cent higher than the last year.”

More said, heavy rush of people for signing property deeds were seen even on holidays especially in March.

In March, out of 12 govt holidays including Holi and Sundays, the registrar and sub registrar offices in the state were functional on all 11 days except on March 25.

In the Indore-Ujjain region, the highest year-on-year jump in revenues from property registrations were seen in Agar, Shajapur and Khargone.

Revenue from property registration in Agar was up by close to 39 per cent to Rs 59 crore, Shajapur at Rs 31 crore and Rs 162 cr at Khargone.
