BHOPAL: Residents of Bhadbhada basti have been given time until Wednesday to vacate their properties. Failure to comply with the eviction notice may lead to action by the administration, according to a Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) press release. There are around 280 households in the area.

The press release stated that during a meeting with affected residents, the Bhopal collector said, “You should remove your encroachments yourself, otherwise the administration will take legal action.”

Earlier in the day, a foot march in the colony was carried out and administration officials interacted with the residents and advised them to remove their encroachments. All through the day, meetings were held between Bhopal police commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra, district collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh and BMC commissioner Frank Noble. BMC additional commissioner Vineet Tiwari, superintending engineer Santosh Gupta along with other officials of the district, police and municipal administration were also present.

The administration move is in connection with the order of National Green Authority (NGT), officials said.
