SCB gets Rs 48cr under transfer of property tax, Real Estate News, ET RealEstate

SECUNDERABAD: In a breather to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), the state government on Saturday transferred 48 crore under ‘transfer of property tax’ (TPT) charges.

Confirming this, the SCB chief executive officer D Madhukar Naik told STOI that: “The state govt has credited 48 crore in Board’s account on Saturday. The state govt is supposed to credit the surcharge of the stamp duty for the property registration in the Cantonment limits, every month. These arrears have been pending for a very long time, as the govt did not credit them since 2014. Though we have put extensive efforts to clear the pending dues of TPT, due to various reasons, it did not happen.”

The CEO added that another 20 crore is even now pending with the state govt and urged the govt to release the remaining TPT charges.

Recently, G V Vennela Gaddar and a few Congress party leaders of the Secunderabad Cantonment met chief minister A Revanth Reddy and made a request to release the TPT charges as SCB is in financial crisis.

“The CM asked the MAUD to release the pending TPT dues to the SCB,” said Congress leader Amarender Reddy.
