JAIPUR: The enforcement wing of Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) demolished seven illegal colonies on Tuesday. These colonies were under construction without clearance from the civic body.

Officials said that the first colony was being developed on around two bighas of private agricultural land in the Vatika village on Neemdi Road. The second colony was being established on an eight bigha private agricultural land in Simliya village.

The JDA also demolished another colony named Bhairav City, which was coming up on around four bighas of private agricultural land on the road leading to Sanskrit College from the Fatehpura village. Additionally, the JDA demolished another illegal colony that was being developed on the north side of the road going to Bansa village from the Simliya village.

“Upon receiving information that a new illegal colony was being set up by levelling a three bigha private land in front of the Chandlai village without the approval of JDA, we demolished all the constructions. Similarly, attempts to establish new illegal colonies in two other spots were also foiled by the enforcement squad,” said an enforcement official.
