Simplified Online System for e-Khata Process

MANGALURU: In a bid to make the e-khata application process simple, the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has introduced an online system for the convenience of property owners in 60 wards.

“People in MCC limits can obtain their property e-khata without the help of middlemen through the e-aasthi portal of the government. Khata will be distributed to applicants through the e-aasthi online software. Under the newly introduced online system, account registration and application for transfer of property khata can be made by citizens on their own through a few simple steps,” said MCC commissioner Anand CL.

Property owners may apply for khata registration or transfer through a simplified process by just scanning the QR code developed by the Karnataka State Remote Sensing Applications Centre available on the e-aasthi portal.

People may login to avail the service using their mobile phones. Once logged in, people will have to submit information, including the details of property, location, name and address of owner with photo and identity card, details of buildings, liabilities, rights, and documents related to land.

“Once the applications are approved by the officials, messages will be sent to the phone of property owners. After receiving a message, applicants may obtain a copy of khata through the e-aasthi website. They may also receive the copy of khata from the revenue section of the MCC or from the MangaloreOne centres in the city,” the commissioner said.
