ULHASNAGAR: The state govt has initiated the process to regularise illegal constructions in Ulhasnagar and issued a format that the local special development officer must implement and provide to owners of such properties.

Ahead of Lok Sabha elections early this year, the state had also reduced the penalty imposed for legalising constructions in the city.

Despite this, revenue department officials were confused about the format in which the property card should be given to the owner after regularisation.

To resolve the confusion, govt has also issued a sample of the format in which the property card should be issued.

This move will benefit over 5 lakh residents of over 27,000 illegal constructions. BJP MLA Kumar Ailani said with this decision, the last hurdle for regularisation have ended.
