GURUGRAM: Four residential buildings in DLF 1 were sealed by the enforcement wing of town and country planning department (DTCP) for violating building norms.
District town planner (enforcement) Manish Yadav said that two buildings were sealed following a complaint was filed at the CM Window and two others for violations of occupation certificate norms.
“The department had issued show cause notices to offenders but they failed to furnish satisfactory replies. The building owners had carried out illegal construction of rooms in stilt parking and cutouts were covered in violation of the rules,” he said.
According to information received from the enforcement team after they got the complaints forwarded from CM Window, show cause notices were issued by the district town planner (enforcement) to two property owners and orders for restoration were also issued but no satisfactory reply was received, G-19/17 and A-4/3 buildings were sealed.
Similarly, after obtaining occupation certificates the owners of properties situated at A-43/5 and A-35/16 in A-Block Extension of DLF 1 carried out illegal construction of rooms in stilt parking and cutouts were covered in violation of rules. “Show cause notices and restoration orders were issued to both the house owners but no response was received so all four floors of house A-43/5 were sealed and first, second floor and terrace of house A-35/16 were sealed,” an official said.
Yadav said a letter will be written to DTP planning to cancel the occupation certificates of these buildings. “Along with this, a letter has also been written to the concerned tehsils for not registering the sale and purchase of these buildings,” he said.
The department has resumed the sealing campaign against illegal commercial activities going on in residential houses, which was put on hold due to festive season. Before Diwali, the department had recovered Rs 1 crore from offenders during sealing drives against unauthorised construction and illegal commercial activities in licenced colonies. For de-sealing of buildings, which were sealed for various violations, the department had collected around Rs 50 lakh in the form of penalties and bank guarantees.
Similarly, sealing of illegal commercial activities had fetched around Rs 50 lakhs in the form of permissions taken by property owners for running non-nuisance activities, as per the norms.
