GURUGRAM: A day after the chief minister visited the city and expressed disappointment over the civic mess, urban local bodies (ULB) director Yashpal Yadav ordered the officials of the old MCG office on Friday to resolve complaints regarding property tax on a priority basis.

The move came after residents complained about the pending status of their property tax objections and applications. Yadav said the officers and clerks, who delay property tax files, will face action.

The director inspected the tax branch, citizen facilitation centres, among other departments. “Residents should not be made to suffer to get their work done. Complaints related to the correction of property tax data should be addressed promptly,” Yadav said.

MCG officials swung into action on Friday and conducted a surprise visit in the civic body’s office in Sector 42. Three employees working in the citizen facilitation centre were found absent as Amardeep Singh, the additional commissioner conducted the visit.
