LUCKNOW: Giving a push to development projects under the Chief Minister Urban Underdevelopment and Slum Development scheme, the department of urban employment and poverty alleviation will soon issue the first instalment of funds under the programme with administrative and financial approvals having been acquired recently.

The programme focusses on development of underdeveloped and slum areas and currently 98 projects in seven districts are underway— Amhora, Deoria, Farrukhabad, Ayodhya, Mirzapur, Pilibhit and Ghaziabad.

A government spokesperson said that of projects which have received the green signal for completion, six are located in Hasanpur, Amroha and Gajraula areas under the Amroha Municipal Council.

For 22 interlocking, CC road and drain construction projects in Salempur, Rudrapur, Bhaluani, Rampur Karkhana, and Gaurabarahj in Deoria, a budget of Rs 5.30 crore has been approved.

For the remaining districts, a total of Rs 12.03 crore has been sanctioned of which 40% or Rs 4.81 crore, has been released.
