NOIDA: In relief to 1,235 homebuyers, the Yamuna Authority issued occupation certificate to Oasis Grandstand, a condominium in Sector 22D, unlocking registries for the flats.

The Authority also approved the layout for nearly 600 plots in SDS Infracon township in Sector 26 A. SDS Infracon launched the township project in 2010 with over 1,400 plots.

YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh said the Authority approved the layouts of 586 plot buyers, whose registries had been executed, by delinking them from the builder’s dues. The move will allow owners to start construction of their houses. Registries of over 800 plots in the township are still stuck.

In its March 12 board meeting, the Authority will also table a proposal to extend the benefits of the two-year Covid ‘zero period’ to homebuyers awaiting registry in several residential projects. Officials said homebuyers may also be exempted from paying any interest or penalty, imposed due to the 64.7% additional farmer compensation, during registration of their flats.

“For registry, a homebuyer is required to pay the additional compensation amount and lease rent directly to the Authority. If approved by the board, homebuyers will be exempted from the interest and penal charges soon,” the CEO added.

Singh said builders opting for UP’s rehabilitation package for stalled projects will also need to extend the benefit of the ‘zero period’, waiving interest and penalty charges from the total dues, to homebuyers from April 2020 to March 2022, thus reducing the financial burden on flat buyers.
