INDORE: Continuing its crackdown against the ‘land mafia’, the Indore district administration on Friday ordered the lodging of an FIR against the colonisers for allegedly developing as many as 11 illegal colonies.
“Following collector Asheesh Singh‘s instructions, an order has been issued to lodge an FIR against colonisers for developing 11 illegal colonies. These colonies were developed without obtaining the requisite permissions on a total of around 15 hectares of land,” ADM Gaurav Benal said, adding that the colonisers sold at least 230 plots in these colonies that were physically verified by the officials concerned.
“It was only after these colonisers failed to prove their colonies are legal that the decision to lodge an FIR against them was taken,” he said.
The ADM said that before this, an FIR against colonisers was earlier lodged for developing a total of 26 illegal colonies.
