JAIPUR: If everything works fine, Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is all set to launch a residential scheme on Dec 15—after four years—to mark the first anniversary of the BJP govt. Located on Kalwar Road in Nahri Ka Bas, the project on 12 hectares of land will be named after former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
“The project committee has approved the name of the scheme. We are waiting for a green signal from the state govt to make sure that the launching event takes place on December 15,” said a JDA official.
Although there are a few residential projects in the city that were developed solely by the JDA, the civic body stopped developing residential schemes for the last four years. “After the Covid pandemic, this will be the first residential scheme to be developed by the JDA. In this scheme, we will develop a total of 386 plots, of which 36 plots will be reserved for the LIG category and EWS.
There will be plots reserved for retail shops and commercial activities as well,” said a JDA official.
The JDA official is yet to determine the reserve rates for plots of this scheme. The civic body is likely to commence a lottery sometime in November 2025 to allot the plots. Officials said three additional residential ventures are also under JDA’s consideration. Besides the Kalwar Road scheme, JDA has plans to establish a residential scheme near Rohini Nagar in Zone 11, within Manpura Teela village.
The authority has proposed two farmhouse projects: one in Govindpura Ropada under Zone 10, and another in Jairampura within Zone 12 jurisdiction.
