JAIPUR: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) Thursday removed encroachment from 40 bighas of govt land in Zone-13 in Anantpura village. Officials said that the land, worth Rs 60 crore, was set aside for a group housing scheme.
Deputy inspector general of police in JDA, Kailash Chandra Bishnoi, said, “On learning that about 40 bighas of JDA-owned govt land meant for group housing scheme was encroached upon by local farmers, action was taken Thursday. The enforcement squad demolished and removed the encroachment from there. The estimated value of the said encroachment-free government land is about Rs 60 crore.”
Officials said that the farmers were illegally farming there, building slums with thatched roofs and tin shed houses, cattle sheds, and planting wooden sticks for fencing at about 30 places.
Officials said that action was carried out by the enforcement squad under the supervision of chief controller for enforcement, Adarsh Chaudhary, deputy controller enforcement-II, enforcement officer of Zone-13, and additional police force received from Police Commissionerate along with a contingent of the local police station Chomu and a contingent available with JDA.
Officials said that encroachment was removed from a total of 359 bighas of govt land by the enforcement cell of JDA since Oct 2024.
Bishnoi appealed to all citizens to make their significant contribution to the campaign against illegal encroachments by personally appearing for enforcement-related complaints, calling control room helpline numbers, or informing JDA through email about illegal constructions or encroachment.
