JAIPUR: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) on Friday said that in the past four months, encroachments were removed from 600 bighas of govt land estimated to be worth Rs 2,000 crore.
Officials said that plots and houses are being made available to the public at concessional rates on govt land after the encroachments are cleared.
Officials mentioned that in the recent Govind Vihar scheme, plots are being made available after JDA removed encroachment from 250 bighas of land worth Rs 1,300 crore in Zone-10 in Nov 2024.
Commissioner Anandi said, “JDA is continuously removing encroachments from govt lands and making systematic planning of the land from where encroachment is removed for providing plots and housing to the public at concessional rates. Along with this, revenue will be generated by creating other types of schemes – warehouse, farmhouse, commercial, which will give impetus to the development of Jaipur.”
On Friday, in Zone-12 near Daulatpura, encroachment was removed from around 80 bighas of govt land worth Rs 160 crore, said officials. In Zone-9, similar action was taken near Hingonia Gaushala, where one bigha of land was cleared.
Meanwhile, in Zone-14, two new illegal colonies built on around 11 bighas of private land were demolished at the initial stage. Along with this, a new illegal colony on around 20 bighas of private landholding was demolished at the initial stage, said officials.
JDA officials have appealed to the citizens of Jaipur to contribute to the campaign against illegal encroachments by personally appearing for enforcement-related complaints, calling control room helpline numbers, or informing JDA through email about illegal constructions or encroachment.
