JAIPUR: The Jaipur Development Authority, Friday, said that work started to develop the state’s first land pooling scheme from Jan 29 under the Rajasthan Land Pooling Scheme Act-2016. Officials said that this scheme was made keeping in mind the interests of farmers or landholders, in which for the first time a provision was made to give 45% land to farmers or landholders in exchange for acquisition.

Jaipur Development Commissioner Anandhi said, “Under this scheme, the construction work of the first 18-metre road in 163 hectares of land in village Shivdaspura, Barkheda, Chandlai in JDA zone-14 started with the cooperation of the farmers. A formal puja was organised on this occasion, and for the first time in Rajasthan, a land pooling scheme is being developed on the lines of the Gujarat model.”

Officials added this plan presents a great example of modern town planning, in which well-planned roads, parks, and amenities areas are proposed to be developed. This will not only lead to the overall development of the area but will also provide better facilities to the local residents.

“It is proposed by JDA to construct 18 and 24 metre roads of the scheme in a time-bound manner in the coming few months. For this, financial approval of Rs 28.60 crore was obtained, and the construction agency was selected,” mentioned an official release.

To study the land pooling scheme in Gujarat, a six-member team also went on an official visit to the ongoing land pooling limit in Surat from Jan 17-20.
