Architectural Digest logo

Newly listed on the Los Angeles rental market: an adorable Silver Lake, California, Craftsman-style abode owned by comedian and actress Jenny Slate. The Obvious Child star put the 2,100-square-foot space up for rent last week at $12,500 a month, according to Realtor.com. Lucky for the home’s future tenant, it comes completely furnished; Slate decked out the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with cozy-cute pieces, including midcentury-style wood furniture and cheerful pops of color throughout. Patterned wallpaper and colorful tile work add to the whimsy.

Tucked discreetly behind a wooden gate, the home’s landscaped front yard features a zen garden with built-in seating, a covered front porch (complete with a swing), and stepping stones leading to the backyard. The front door opens into the living room, which is filled with sunlight from numerous generously sized windows. A petite office off of the main living area offers a serene space to work while enjoying the view through a picture window.

Beyond the living area, an open-plan dining room and kitchen are also sunnily lit thanks to two more picture windows. Vintage spring green dining chairs line a circular dining table, while patterned stools sit at a wooden kitchen island with a milky quartz countertop. Other sweet details include a green-and-white checkered backsplash above the stove, modern cream-hued cabinetry with spherical wooden knobs, and open shelves lined with colorful cookware.

Up a small wooden staircase is the family room, featuring a cushy white sectional and built-in shelving. A sliding glass door leads into the backyard, which offers a pergola-topped dining space dripping with ivy. On the home’s top floor, two spacious all-white bedrooms share a bathroom lined with baby blue tile.

Per listing records, the Marcel the Shell with Shoes On voice actor purchased the 1912-built house for $1.5 million in the summer of 2017.
