RANCHI: The Jharkhand State Housing Board (JSHB) on Wednesday said it would allot 181 houses/flats through a lottery system from February.
Talking to TOI, JSHB chairman Sanjay Paswan said, “The allotment will be on ‘As is where basis’. The properties are of various nature and people can apply from February 10 till March 10 on www(dot)jshb(dot)jharkhand(dot)gov(dot)in/home and www(dot)jshblottery(dot)jharkhand(dot)gov(dot)in.”
The allotment will be for a 90-year lease basis. JSHB would conduct the entire allotment process online for the first time. JSHB last alloted its properties in 2019.
Application fees have been fixed based on one’s earning. For economically weaker section (EWS), a one-time, non-refundable application fee of Rs 1,000 has been fixed, Rs 2,000 for lower income group (LIG) and middle income group (MIG), and Rs 3,000 for higher income group (HIG) besides 18% GST on registration for all.
On the eligibility criteria, another official said the applicant or his/her dependent must not have any house/flat on free hold or lease hold basis in 8 km radius of JSHB area. “The applicant must also have one year’s income tax return, self declaration, notified birth, residential among other certificates,” said Paswan, adding that the idea behind the allotment is to provide housing for all.
“Soon, we shall begin allotments in other districts. This apart, we are working out plots to allot them among public,” he said.
Houses will be available under various categories. For example, in EWS category, JSHB will offer houses measuring a super built-up area between 421 to 455 sq feet, each priced differently. Super built-up area of 1,000 sq feet to 1,200 sq ft are classified as MIG flats while houses of 1,500 sq ft and above are classified as HIG flats.
“While applying, an applicant must deposit 10% of the total fixed value of that particular property,” he said.
