JAIPUR: Camps will be organised in every ward of Jaipur Municipal Corporation – Greater (JMC-G) in Feb and March for 100% recovery of urban development (UD) tax and advertisement fee, said officials on Friday.
In a review meeting she chaired, JMC-G commissioner Rukmani Riar instructed all zone deputy commissioners, revenue officers and revenue inspectors of the civic body to achieve 100% target in collection of revenues. The camps will start at various locations in all zones of JMC-G from Monday.
“Joint camps of one or two wards can be conducted daily. The camp timing will be from 10am to 5pm or till work completion. Attendance of the entire revenue team and that of Sparrow (the agency responsible for collection of UD tax) will be mandatory at the camp sites,” said Riar.
UD tax is the primary source of income for JMC-G, and it is applicable on commercial, institutional, residential, industrial and mixed-use properties as per rules, said Riar.
As per previous announcements by state govt, house owners who deposit the entire outstanding house tax in lump sum by March 31 are eligible for a 50% concession on the amount of basic house tax and a 100% concession on penalty. On depositing the lump sum UD tax amount for the financial year 2023-24 by March 31, house owners will get 100% concession on interest and penalty. These benefits will reach residents through the camps to be organised in all zones, said Riar.
