Are Dune: Part Two star Josh Brolin and the Sussexes now neighbors? While we don’t know if the actor will be living down the street from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, we do know that Brolin just bought a $7.1 million property in Montecito, California, the last known neighborhood of the prince and the American Riviera Orchard founder.
According to Robb Report, Brolin’s new digs are in the foothills of the San Ysidro mountains. Nostalgia may have played a part in his choice of locale, as the recent SNL host has “great memories” of frequenting the area in his younger years and learned how to rock climb from a childhood buddy there, per a 2016 Instagram post.
The 2.8-acre estate, which is dotted with shady oak trees and surrounded by privacy walls and gates, was passed onto Brolin in an off-market deal, so current images of the property are not available to the public. Past photos show an updated spread with lots to offer, including a 6,000-square-foot 1930s East Coast traditional-style house, gardens, an equestrian arena, an aviary, a barn, and many large patios. The property is paved with winding, tree-lined footpaths and staircases up and down the tiered levels.

With five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms spread throughout the one-story home, Brolin and his wife Kathryn also have tons of room to host any overnight guests. Inside the all-white clapboard abode are vaulted ceilings with skylights that usher in plenty of sunlight, as well as French doors in almost every room, which lead to different areas of the property’s many gardens. The primary suite has direct access to the gardens and comes complete with a sitting area, custom millwork in the walk-in closet, and a spa bathroom.
According to records, the house was last sold in 2022 for $6.8 million.
