KALYAN: Now in Kalyan Dombivli, builders will not have to make rounds of the officers’ offices for building permission. In the new year, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has started the entire facility of building plan approval online.
According to KDMC, this facility for building plans was already there, but due to many technical reasons, people used to take building permission offline. Recently, KDMC Commissioner Dr Indurani Jakhar decided to make this facility completely online to bring transparency to the work related to building permission.
Following this, the Town Planning Department of KDMC called a meeting of the city’s builders and architects on Thursday, where they were given training on how to apply for an online building plan and how to solve all the queries arising from it.
Now, Additional Town Planner of KDMC Town Planning Department, Surendra Tengale, said that this facility has been completely made online, and any developer can submit a plan for building permission online from anywhere in the country.
Tengale stated that under this online facility, the builder will be able to see which department the file related to his plan is in, and if there are any pending documents in that file, he will also be able to send them online. He will not have to go to the office for all these works.
The KDMC is using the BPMS software provided by the state govt for the online submission and approval of building plans, and it is functioning smoothly.
The builders and architects of the city have welcomed this decision of KDMC. Vimal Thakkar, a developer, said, “In today’s time, everything has become online, which is making work easier. In such a situation, due to building plan permission being online, we will no longer have to go to meet the officers again and again, and it will be much easier to get the plan passed than before.”
