KALABURAGI: The state govt has introduced the A Khata and B Khata framework to streamline asset management.

Priyank Kharge, minister for rural development and panchayat raj and Kalaburagi district in-charge, confirmed that this initiative will establish asset ownership rights. The announcement came during the inauguration of the e-Khata programme at the Indira Memorial Bhavan, situated in the Kalaburagi city corporation park.

He reported that rural properties across the state, totalling 11.5 lakh, are now under tax assessment, generating a revenue of Rs 1,272 crore. Previously, despite providing essential amenities to properties within corporation boundaries, residents lacked ownership rights. The new system addresses this through the issuance of A Khata and B Khata certificates.

The minister confirmed that rural properties will receive legal status through A and B Khata registration. He encouraged public participation in this initiative.

Plans are under way to transform Kalaburagi into a smart city, with a comprehensive development blueprint to be completed within two months. The focus includes urban beautification, industrial growth, infrastructure development, and improved drainage systems.

During the event, the minister conducted a ceremonial distribution of Khata certificates to residents.

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures including MLAs Allama Prabhu Patil, Kaneez Fatima, Thippannappa Kamakanur, Chandrasekhara Patil, KUDA president Mazar Alam Khan, Commissioner Avinash Shinde, among others.
