Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar has reportedly signed the paperwork to buy a not-so-humble Brentwood, Los Angeles, manse for more than $40 million. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Compton native’s purchase will rank among the area’s priciest this year, if the deal is finalized. The seller is former chief legal and policy officer at Fox Corporation, Viet Dinh, per the WSJ. Dinh and his wife, Jennifer Ashworth Dinh, bought the house in 2019 for $19.5 million.

Since the transaction is off-market, it’s not clear what changes—if any—the Dinhs made to the property. At the time of their purchase, the 2018-built structure was listed as an eight-bedroom, 15-bathroom dwelling, spanning over 16,000 square feet.

According to its most recent listing, the roughly one-acre parcel also features a guest house, a swimming pool with a spa, an outdoor kitchen, and a cabana. A spacious loggia with a fireplace bridges the main house to the backyard. There’s no shortage of amenities indoors, either: a tiered movie theater, a gym, a wood-paneled wine room, and bespoke dressing rooms are all found within the modern farmhouse-style home.

A double-sided fireplace warms the primary suite, which also boasts vaulted ceilings, dual bathrooms, and a private balcony. In another area of the house, a spa-like bathroom is replete with a massage room, sauna, and steam room.

The “These Walls” artist has most recently made headlines for his feud with fellow rapper Drake. A series of diss tracks between the musicians has resulted in several number one hits for Lamar, whose latest song, “Not Like Us,” currently tops the Billboard Hot 100 list. The single’s cover art features an inflammatory Google Maps image of Drake’s Toronto mansion.
