BENGALURU: A delegation from the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) visited the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Friday to gain insights into the property tax software and the ongoing digitization of municipal assets.
Led by KMC Commissioner Manjulekshmi, the delegation was welcomed by BBMP Joint Commissioner Lakshmidevi at the BBMP central office. The visit included an in-depth discussion on BBMP’s property tax software, designed to be user-friendly for citizens, and the comprehensive digitization process of all properties within the BBMP jurisdiction.
The delegation learned about the operational aspects of the property tax software, including how it simplifies tax payments for residents. Detailed information was provided on the number of properties in the city, the tax assessment process, and the overall property tax system.
In addition, the Kolhapur delegation visited the BBMP East Zone to observe the digitization process firsthand. They were accompanied by KMC System Manager Yashpal Rajput and Tax Assessor Sudhakar Challewad, along with BBMP revenue officials.
This visit marks a step towards sharing best practices in municipal administration and enhancing property tax management and digitization initiatives in Kolhapur.
