LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday suspended map approvals for plots in the Ansal’s housing project in the city.
This decision will remain in effect until the department completes its scrutiny of land records and related documents or until the case is finalised and a decision is taken by the govt.
LDA also filed a claim under the Insolvency Resolution Process (IRP) against Ansal’s bankruptcy proceedings by National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
There are approximately 1,000 plots in the project.
LDA additional secretary Gyanendra Verma said, “No new maps will be sanctioned as reviewing the files, we discovered many loopholes in the land acquisition. A high-level investigation is necessary to determine how such a major decision was made and what was the base of the decision.”
Ansal was granted land acquisition rights along Shaheed Path on Sultanpur Road, covering 3,500 acres, with LDA designated as the nodal agency.
Meanwhile, several allottees have lodged FIRs at the Sushant Golf City police station against Ansal’s directors and officials. Multiple complaints have been registered, accusing the company of fraudulent registry practices, withholding plot possession, and failing to deliver booked villas.
