Lucknow development body to collect maintenance charges from allottees of vacant plots, ET RealEstate

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has decided to collect maintenance charges from allottees of vacant plots in Gomti Nagar Extension following complaints of garbage accumulation and waterlogging.

The proposal was discussed at Pradhikaran Diwas on Thursday.

Around 29 petitions were submitted during the day, while seven cases were resolved on the spot, and deadlines were set for addressing the remaining issues. The public hearing, organised as part of ‘Pradhikaran Diwas,’ focused on addressing concerns related to property registration, mutations, freehold conversions, and illegal constructions.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Vardan Khand in Gomti Nagar Extension, reported that around 20 vacant plots near his house were causing problems due to garbage, waterlogging, and miscreants gathering in the area.

Additional secretary Gyanendra Verma instructed the executive engineer of zone 1 to inspect the colony and ensure cleanliness.

He also mooted the idea of collecting maintenance charges from allottees of vacant plots in the Gomti Nagar Extension Scheme.

Another applicant, Shabina, a resident of Sector-P in the Basant Kunj Scheme, complaint of encroachment.

Enforcement zone-5 officers were directed to take action within three days after inspecting the site.

LDA secretary Vivek Srivastava said, “Order to address issues have been given on all the applications received in the meeting, reflecting the authority’s commitment to resolving public grievances efficiently.”

Senior officials, including special officers Rajeev Kumar, Shashibhushan Pathak, Vandana Pandey, Ranjana Awasthi, Devansh Trivedi, Ravi Nandan Singh, and other engineers were present.
