LUDHIANA: Continuing with its drive against illegal constructions, the municipal corporation (MC) demolished eight illegal commercial and industrial under-construction buildings being in areas falling under Zone C on Wednesday.
Action was taken against the buildings as the owners were constructing them without getting a building plan approved from the civic body.
Building branch officials of MC Zone C said that these buildings were being constructed in different areas, including Star Road, Bapu Market, Satsang Ghar Road, Malhi Road to Jaspal Bangar, and Garcha Colony. Warnings were issued to the owners in the past, but they continued the illegal construction, following which the illegal buildings were demolished.
The officials claimed that regular drives are being conducted against illegal constructions. In total, action was taken against 20 illegal constructions in the last week. The drive against illegal constructions will continue in the coming days.
