Ludhiana civic body demolishes six more illegal buildings, ET RealEstate

LUDHIANA: Tightening the noose around those involved in illegal constructions, the Municipal Corporation demolished six illegal structures and eight encroachments in different parts of the city Tuesday.

This apart, building branch officials also sealed five unauthorised shops that were being constructed in Pritam Nagar, on Barewal Road and 200 Feet Road.

The officials said three illegal industrial buildings under construction were demolished in Kundanpuri, while a labour quarters under construction was razed in Pritam Nagar.

Similarly, two shops under construction were pulled down in Pritam Nagar.

On the sealing of the five shops, the officials said that one shop was situated in Pritam Nagar, three on Barewal Road, and one at 200 Feet Road.

Over half a dozen encroachments in the form of sheds were demolished in the market near Krishna Mandir (Model Town Extension), and two encroachments on the road portions faced the MC bulldozer in Amardas Colony.

Shopkeepers raised a hue and cry in Model Town extension market, accusing civic officials of punishing some and sparing others.
