BHOPAL: The state govt is developing two metropolitan regions to strengthen the state’s economic landscape. The first metropolitan cluster will combine Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, and Dhar districts, while the second will integrate Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, and Biora (Rajgarh), stated a statement issued here on Sunday.
Officials said the urban development and housing department was executing that project that aims to establish the state as a key centre for economic growth.
In line with the central govt’s vision, major divisional headquarters — including Gwalior, Sagar, Rewa, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, and Shahdol — are being developed as Regional Economic Growth Hubs. The initiative is expected to boost employment, business, and investment opportunities across the state.
The land in the urban areas of the state is a valuable resource, its systematic use is very crucial for urban development. Keeping this in mind, TDR (Transfer of Development Rights) rules have been made. An online process has been prescribed for the implementation of these rules. TDR portal has been prepared for the online process. This portal facilitates the transfer of development rights to builders and property owners. This gives them additional construction capacity as compensation.
The Green FAR concept has been presented for the development of green areas, wooded areas and city forests under the Integrated Township Policy. This concept will not only enhance urban beauty, but is also proving to be an important step towards environmental protection and sustainable development, stated the statement.
The state govt has formulated the Integrated Township Policy-2025 to promote sustainable urban development. The objective of this policy is to develop well-organised, modern and self-reliant townships through the participation of private and public sectors. This policy will promote better basic facilities, green residential areas and smart infrastructure.
The land pooling concept has also been adopted in this policy, which will give land owners an opportunity to participate in development with proper compensation. Automatic Building Permission and Approval System has been developed to ensure transparency and accountability in the process of building permission in the state. So far, 2 lakh 60 thousand applications have been approved in the state.
