INDORE: Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has planned to spend more than Rs 200 crore on developing at least three new industrial zones in the ongoing 2024-25 financial year.
New industrial zones Maksi, Shajapur and Jaggakhedi in Mandsaur district are slated to be developed in FY 2025.
MPIDC is planning to develop phase 2 of Maksi on approximately 55 hectare, while the proposed area in Shajapur is expected to materialise on 100 hectare. Another industrial area Jaggakhedi phase 2 is envisioned on 72 hectare.
The projected cost of development of these industrial zones is approximately Rs 223 crore.
“Development work has commenced and three new industrial areas Maksi, Shajapur and Jaggakhedi are expected to be operational in this fiscal year. The project report is finalised and construction works are at varying stages at these zones,” said an official from MPIDC requesting anonymity.
More than 300 micro and small industries specialising in food processing, fabrication, chemical and engineering units have expressed interest to establish manufacturing industries in Agar-Malwa and Shajapur districts, according to the local chapter of the Laghu Udyog Bharati.
MPIDC has conducted discussions with local industrialists and industry associations to comprehend their requirements and demand for the proposed industrial zones.
The industry department is actively identifying land parcels in the state to develop new industrial zones and clusters to attract local investors to establish facilities.
MPIDC is devising strategic upgrades to infrastructure, constructing an effluent treatment plant, road development and water supply at identified industrial areas in the state.
