GURUGRAM: MCM commissioner Renu Sogan directed officials to launch enforcement action to seal properties belonging to property tax defaulters and take satisfaction letters from ward councillors for cleanliness activities.
The commissioner, who gave these instructions during a meeting, said properties should be sealed after serving notices. “A campaign should be launched to seal properties of those who have not paid their property taxes after issuing notices to them. I have directed the taxation officer to raise awareness about property self-certification and to promptly resolve objections related to property IDs,” she said, adding that drives should also be held to curb illegal meat shops and liquor stores from flourishing on corporation land.
The commissioner further instructed the engineering wing officials to collaborate with councillors to survey broken sewer covers in each ward and submit a report within a week. Officials were instructed to install new streetlights and repair non-functional ones in the corporation area and ensure fogging in all villages.
Moreover, the engineering wing was directed to explore the feasibility of constructing an auditorium with a capacity of 600 people, an indoor sports complex, and a library in Nakhrola village. The commissioner also suggested renovating the pond in the village under CSR initiatives.
Earlier this week, Manesar mayor Inderjeet Kaur Yadav had said that development work will be carried out across all villages with active participation of local councillors. She announced that weekly meetings would be held with the ward councillors to discuss their wards’ issues. She directed MCM officials to clean a pond in Rampura village, after complaints from residents about mosquitoes breeding.
