Hollywood royalty Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are parting ways with their 12-acre Westchester County estate, now on the market for $12 million. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, the famous couple, who have been married for over 20 years, keep their real estate portfolios separate; the 1920s-built Colonial Revival mansion, situated along the Irvington, New York riverfront, belongs to Zeta-Jones. The Wales-born Wednesday actor purchased the estate for $4.5 million in 2019 and is offloading it as she and Douglas recently became empty-nesters.
“When I purchased our Irvington home, I knew our family would share many happy times here, and we have!” Zeta-Jones said in a statement. “Now that both our son and daughter have left the nest, it seems like the right time to sell.”
The Oscar-winning duo recently hosted a campaign fundraiser for President Biden at the 11,653-square-foot house. The gated estate boasts a few other celebrity ties, having once been owned by Charles Lewis Tiffany, founder of the jewelry company Tiffany & Co.

Irvington is located 20 miles north of Manhattan. The four-level house contains eight ensuite bedrooms and 12 bathrooms in total. After purchasing, Zeta-Jones and Douglas opted for an extensive renovation of the home’s interiors, which now reflect a blend of original classical elements with a vibrant contemporary aesthetic. One of the standout spaces is a family room with a fireplace and river views, leading to a double-height library with floor-to-ceiling shelving and a spiral staircase. All walls in both rooms are paneled with oak.

The kitchen floor is laid with ebony-colored wood planks, off-setting the white countertops and gold hardware. The primary suite includes an adjacent lounge area, a spa bathroom with a fireplace, and a boutique-style dressing room with jet-black cabinetry. French doors on the first floor lead to a 100-foot outdoor terrace that sits atop an indoor entertainment center with a 21-foot heated pool, a gym, playrooms, a kitchenette, and massive arched windows. Between the house and the river sits 130 feet of manicured lawn featuring a stone patio.
“Michael and I plan to spend more time in Bermuda and Europe,” Zeta-Jones said.
