INDORE: The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has allocated approximately 3,000 plots to beneficiaries of the land pooling scheme at sector 7 in Pithampur, comprising 2,900 residential plots and 95 commercial plots.

The proposed industrial belt sector 7 in Pithampur is being developed on more than 2,000 hectare, with a significant portion of the land, roughly 1,351 hectares, to be acquired from private landowners. The estimated development cost of the project is approximately Rs 2,400 crore.

“We have allotted 2,900 residential plots and 95 commercial plots to landowners, thereby completing the allotment to all beneficiaries whose land deeds were finalized by 2020. The allotment of approximately 2,000 additional plots to landowners is currently underway,” said an MPIDC official, who requested anonymity.

As per the land pooling terms, state government announced that 20 per cent of the compensation amount would be paid in cash, while the remaining 80 per cent would be provided in the form of developed residential or commercial plots.

MPIDC has also allocated more than 200 hectare to industries in the underdeveloped industrial area and is seeking to obtain more consents from landowners.

“We are endeavoring to secure fresh consents from landowners, but some have expressed dissatisfaction and are reluctant to relinquish their land parcels. The department is engaging in discussions with these farmers,” the official said.

According to MPIDC, the registration of approximately 450 hectare has been completed, with an additional 150 hectares in the pipeline.

Officials also mentioned that a portion of 350 hectare from the forest department is expected to be incorporated into the expansion of the proposed sector 7 in Pithampur.
