NASHIK: With the onset of the New Year, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to do away with the offline submission of building plan proposals and permissions.

The process for such submissions will now be implemented online. The online system for approval of plans has been in place for the past few years.

However, offline permissions were given to proposals only with the approval of the municipal commissioner of NMC in case there were technical snags in the software.

But now offline permissions would not be given to builders or developers, and all processes will be carried out online, ensuring transparency.

Municipal commissioner Manisha Khatri issued a circular in this regard with effect from Jan 1.

Earlier, the NMC used an AutoDCR software for online submission and approval of building plan proposals. Thereafter, the state govt introduced the unified Development Control & Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) which later introduced its own software for online submission and approval of building plan proposals for entire Maharashtra.

Currently, the NMC uses the BPMS software — provided by the state govt — for online submission and approval of building plans, and it is functioning smoothly.

An NMC official, while talking to TOI, said earlier the developers faced issues in the software while submitting their proposals online. “Hence, they were allowed to submit their proposals offline, but only with the permission of the municipal commissioner.” the official said.

“Later, a new software was developed by the state govt following which the civic body decided that all building plan proposals will be submitted online only,” the official added.
