NASHIK: Municipal commissioner Manisha Khatri has eased the process of getting various permissions related to the town planning department by delegating powers to the officials and reducing the layers for approvals of various proposals.
As per the new circular issued by the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) chief, building plan permission for residential projects in the low-risk category will be given clearance by the junior engineer, while the deputy engineer will have the authority to sanction building permission for residential projects in the moderate-risk category on land up to 300sqmt.
The executive engineer (EE) will have the power to give permission for building plan proposals for projects on land measuring 301 to 4,000 sqmt. Building plan proposals on land measuring between 4,001 and 8,000 sqmt will be approved by the Assistant Director Town Planning (ADTP). The Deputy Director of Town Planning (DDTP) will have the power to sanction building plan proposals on land measuring between 8,001 and 12,000 sqmt. Only projects above 12,000sqmt will be approved with permission of the civic chief.
Deputy director of the town planning department of the NMC Dipak Varade said the old circular of the town planning department about various permissions was very complicated.
“But the new circular issued by the municipal commissioner for various permissions related to the town planning department is a simplified one,” he said.
“The slabs for building plan and layout permissions are the same at the level of EE, ADTP, and DDTP. Mainly, the new order is simplified and concentrated on decentralisation of powers as per post hierarchy,” Varade added.
While taking over the charge as the civic chief last month, Khatri said that her priority will be easing out the process and decentralisation of powers in town planning and other departments.
