NAVI MUMBAI: Following the directives from Bombay high court based on a public interest litigation filed in 2023, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) decided to undertake a comprehensive survey of unauthorised constructions within its jurisdiction in a stipulated time.

This process involves issuing notices to concerned property holders, conducting hearings for their perspectives, and issuing final orders.

“We will have to hold hearings for each property that cropped up illegally over a period of time. Officials concerned have been instructed to kick off the process at the earliest so that a compliance report could be submitted to the court,” said NMMC commissioner Kailash Shinde.
