PANAJI: The North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) has invited objections and suggestions regarding the draft Outline Development Plan (ODP) 2031 of the Panaji Planning Area.
The NGPDA has given an additional time of 60 days for stakeholders to file objections, marking the fourth time that the NGPDA has kept the window open for stakeholders. The Town and Country Planning (TCP) board, on 17 July, had directed the NGPDA to give stakeholders additional time to voice their concerns.
In mid-July, a spat broke out between TCP minister Vishwajit Rane and Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate over ODPs for Panaji and the conversion of land. Rane had said that the Panaji ODP would be notified within ten days, without sending it back to the Planning and Development Authority. Monserrate had complained that despite being the local MLA, he was being kept in the dark about the change of zones in Panaji.
Those who have already submitted their feedback earlier have been asked to refrain from doing so yet again as their suggestions and objections would also be considered. They will also be heard on request after the expiry of 60 days. It was in Feb that the NGPDA prepared the draft ODP for Panaji – 2031 and first put it up for public scrutiny. The draft ODP for Panaji has included parts of Penha de Franca village approved by TCP board on 18 Jan at its meeting headed by Rane.
