KOLKATA: The New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) has started off-site property tax collection and mutation camps at different multi-storied buildings across New Town for apartment owners to complete their mutation process and help them assess and pay property tax if they wish to do so on the spot.
The camps will be held at different housing complexes till the end of March, as the authorities are trying to collect as much as possible from property tax and mutation fees by the end of this financial year.
“The aim of holding the camps at the doorsteps of high-rise complexes, which has been a regular feature for the last few years, is to generate awareness and assist apartment owners to go through the mutation process in a convenient manner from their homes. Several documents are required to be scanned and uploaded on the portal for the authorities to initiate mutation process,” said an NKDA official.
