NOIDA: Ten group housing societies account for nearly all of the dues in water bills in 2023-24. The Noida Authority has raised Rs 94.5 crore in revenue from water bills, while the dues amount to Rs 94.6 crore. The collection target set by the Authority is Rs 120 crore.
At Rs 23 crore, Sector 110 Granite GTE Properties accounts for the maximum water dues, followed by the Sector 143 Logix City society with Rs 17.5 crore dues, the Sector 45 SDS Infratech society with Rs 16.2 crore dues, the Supertech societies in sectors 74, 93A and 137 with Rs 15.9 crore dues, the Sector 135 Today Homes society with Rs 11 crore dues, the Sector 74 Ajnara India Limited society with Rs 6.2 crore dues, the Sector 137 Logix Infrastructure society with Rs 2 crore dues, and the Sector 50 government cooperative society with Rs 1.7 crore dues.
Officials said they have pasted notices at all the societies concerned and are attempting to collect the remaining water bills from the defaulters.
During a meeting at the Noida Authority office on Monday, CEO Lokesh M reviewed the progress of the water meter installation.
The CEO has asked officials to compare bills generated in manual mode with bills generated from smart meters and study water meter projects in other cities. He said the comparative study would help decide the action plan for the water meter project and smoothen its implementation.
In the first phase of the water meter project, the Noida Authority will install 390 water meters across 60,000 households. The CEO has also asked the water department of the Authority to complete the Ganga water supply project by May 2024 to ensure water supply across the city.
