PUNE: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued notices to 426 commercial establishments for violating the safety norms amid the ongoing fire safety survey.
The civic body has surveyed a total of 43,925 commercial properties to date in the ongoing survey. The officials have identified 2,423 commercial establishments, including 718 industrial units that are violating safety norms in the Talawade red zone and need immediate intervention to prevent any major fire mishaps. The notices will be delivered to all of these places.
“Immediate action is essential to ensuring the safety of both occupants and properties. We urge cooperation from the owners and occupants of these establishments,” Pradeep Jambhale Patil, additional municipal commissioner, told TOI.
Deputy Commissioner Manoj Lonkar underlined the necessity of full cooperation from owners and occupiers of such commercial establishments, citing recent fire incidents and violations of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act.
