BHUBANESWAR: The govt is planning to amend existing rules to bring transparency in land allotment, chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Wednesday.
Replying to the demand discussion for general administration department, the CM said the Odisha Govt Land Settlement Rules, 2020, which governs the land allotment process, will be amended to bring transparency in land allotment.
With Bhubaneswar developing fast, the CM said there has seen a surge in land prices, leading to encroachment. “The govt is vigilant and reviewing the situation, ensuring action against irregularities,” he said.
To safeguard govt properties, encroachments are being identified, and eviction is being expedited through the Central Enforcement Monitoring Committee, with necessary boundary walls built. A budget of Rs 10.88 crore has been allocated for this purpose in the budget.
